Proptech Day 2026 in Stockholm: "Less talk and more action"

Proptech Day 2026 in Stockholm.

As Proptech Day steps into Nordbygg 2026 in Stockholm, the bar is raised significantly. Allicon has spoken with Eddie Ekberg, Editor-in-Chief and responsible publisher at Fastighetssverige, about expectations, trends, and why connectivity and cybersecurity are now absolutely critical for the properties of the future.

This year’s edition of Proptech Day marks a clear shift. With a new home at Nordbygg and a growing focus on business and tangible results, the event is expected to attract more decision-makers than ever before.

"It’s a clear step up. Becoming part of Nordbygg 2026 gives us a completely different reach and weight. I expect more business, more decision-makers, and even sharper content. Yes, less talk and more action," says Eddie Ekberg.

From hype to real value

In recent years, proptech has evolved from a buzzword into a business-critical function. According to Ekberg, it’s clear which technologies are now truly making a difference.

"AI and data analytics are already game changers. Energy efficiency and ESG are no longer ‘nice to have.’ Going forward, I see automation, digital twins, and integrated platforms as the big winners—solutions that actually work together."

At the same time, the perception of real estate is fundamentally changing. It’s no longer enough to manage properties—you have to think and act like a tech company.

"The demands are increasing significantly. Owners need to think more like tech companies, with a focus on data, operational optimization, and scalability. Users expect seamless, connected experiences—it just has to work, all the time."

Connectivity – a critical foundation

As properties become increasingly digital, infrastructure becomes crucial. The message here is quite clear—without the right foundation, everything else matters less.

"It’s the foundation. Without stable and future-proof connectivity, everything else falls apart. It doesn’t matter how smart the technology you install is if the infrastructure can’t support it," Ekberg continues.

With increasing digitalization also come new risks. Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue—it’s a matter for the entire real estate business.

"It has improved, but we’re not there yet. Many still underestimate the risks. As properties become IT environments, security must be taken seriously. Not as a side issue."

Where deals begin

Proptech Day isn’t just about technology—it’s about insights and concrete business opportunities. Allicon will of course be present throughout the day and looks forward to meeting both customers and partners.

"The stage program, where technology meets people and business in a real way—cases that demonstrate actual impact. And the networking. That’s where deals begin," concludes Eddie Ekberg.
