“Allicon will become the natural Nordic partner for connectivity”

Allicon now completes their acquisition of Awiwo.

Connectivity has become a crucial part of the infrastructure in modern buildings. For Christian Walén, the opportunity to help develop this area was an important reason for accepting the role of CEO at Allicon. He now aims to scale the business, strengthen the company’s position in the Nordic region and, together with the recently acquired Awiwo, create an even stronger end-to-end offering in connected infrastructure with high technical quality.

Christian Walén took up his position as Allicon’s new CEO in August. His previous roles include Group CEO of Careium AB (publ), CEO of PBM Sweden AB, CEO of Assessio and Senior Manager at Accenture. He is now looking forward to taking Allicon to new heights.

“Connectivity is a fundamental part of modern society’s infrastructure. It affects everything from how we work to how healthcare, social care and other essential services function. Allicon has taken an innovative approach to this area and offers a very compelling combination of expertise and solutions,” he says.

Another decisive factor in Christian Walén’s decision to accept the role was Allicon’s ability to take end-to-end responsibility – from assessment, planning and technical design to implementation and ongoing operations.

“It is not simply about installing technology. It is about creating reliable, secure and future-proof infrastructure that delivers genuine value to the customer.”

“Strong customer relationships”

Christian describes a company with great commitment and a clear determination to deliver high quality.

“There is a very strong culture of doing an excellent job and daring to approach things differently. I have also been impressed by the company’s unique portfolio of solutions. It is considerably broader than you might expect from a company of Allicon’s size.”

He also highlights Allicon’s customer relationships as one of the company’s most valuable assets.

“We work closely with our customers and strive to understand what they actually need in order to succeed. This has created a high level of trust and enabled us to build very strong customer relationships.”

What do you see as Allicon’s greatest strength?

“Our strength lies in the combination of our technical expertise and our ability to work closely with customers and partners. We join forces with the customer and develop solutions together. This unpretentious, customer-centric approach is particularly important in complex environments such as hospitals, large properties and essential public services, where standard solutions are rarely sufficient.

“Different organisations have different requirements when it comes to capacity, operational reliability, resilience and cybersecurity. To create genuine value, the solution must be adapted to both the environment and the people who will use it.

“Many organisations have developed their connected infrastructure over a long period of time and with several different suppliers. This can result in fragmented solutions, inadequate documentation and unclear responsibilities, while their dependence on reliable infrastructure continues to grow. We see a clear need for a provider capable of assuming comprehensive, long-term responsibility.”

The ambition is to give more customers and organisations access to the solutions that Allicon is already successfully delivering today. The Nordic region is the company’s home market, and Allicon now intends to strengthen its position further.

“We will scale what we do and reach more customers while retaining what makes Allicon unique: powerful tools, extensive technical expertise and exceptionally high delivery quality.”

The acquisition of Awiwo strengthens the overall offering

Growth will be achieved both organically and through strategic acquisitions. The acquisition of Awiwo is an important step in this strategy and further strengthens Allicon’s position within connected infrastructure. Together, the companies are even better equipped to take responsibility for the entire value chain – from assessing and understanding a customer’s existing infrastructure to designing, building, commissioning and managing the connectivity solutions of the future.

“Awiwo is both an exciting and strategically important addition. We complement each other extremely well. Together, we have a broader range of expertise and can meet more of our customers’ needs – whether these relate to fixed or wireless communications, resilience or mission-critical connectivity.”

Christian also sees considerable potential in Allicon’s proprietary AI-based platforms and tools.

“We have developed a great deal of expertise and technology in-house. Looking ahead, we have the opportunity to enable even more customers to benefit from that technology and the value it creates. The combination of our digital tools and the expertise now brought together within Allicon and Awiwo gives us exciting opportunities to help drive the development of tomorrow’s connected infrastructure.

“An important part of this is PropView, our proprietary platform for documenting, visualising and managing customers’ connected infrastructure. It enables us to combine the physical infrastructure with a digital layer that gives customers long-term control over their environments. It is an important part of our offering and an area in which we will continue to invest.”

What experience will you bring from your previous leadership roles?

“I bring extensive leadership experience, with a particular focus on creating growth. My role is not to know every technical detail better than anyone else. It is to understand our customers and the market, recognise how technology can create value and give the organisation the right conditions to succeed.”

The goal is clear: Allicon will establish an even stronger position in the Nordic region, supported by long-term customer relationships and partnerships across several Nordic countries. At the same time, Christian believes that requirements relating to structure, security and long-term sustainability will increase as properties and essential public services become increasingly dependent on reliable connectivity.

“Connectivity will no longer be regarded as an add-on service, but as a natural and critical part of every property. With Allicon and Awiwo working together, we are very well positioned to remain at the forefront and continue driving this development.”
